Win $1,000 for Your Favorite Shelter!
Do you love Halloween? Do you love dressing up your dog or cat in ridiculous costumes so you can post embarrassing pictures of them online? Heck, do you like cash and valuable prizes?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you’re going to want to enter the Pets Adviser & Embrace Pet Insurance Halloween Photo Contest. The contest ends on Nov. 1st.
In all, 13 entrants in our virtual costume parade will win prizes, a very fitting number for a Halloween contest! We will announce one Grand Prize winner, two second prize winners and 10 Honorable Mentions.
The winners will receive some amazing prizes, including cash, treats, toys and the Grand Prize… a $1,000 donation to the registered 501(c)3 nonprofit animal shelter or rescue of the winner’s choice, courtesy of Embrace Pet Insurance.
You’re going to want to share this contest with your friends and family, especially if you work with a nonprofit animal shelter or rescue or if you know someone who does. So hit that Facebook button and share the news. A thousand bucks goes a long way toward feeding and vetting rescue animals.
The contest started Oct. 8th on our Facebook page. You have until Nov. 1st to enter, though voting will start Oct. 19th.
Contest Prizes
(1) Grand Prize
Only the top 25 photos that receive the most votes during the voting period will be eligible to win the Grand Prize. 
A Pets Adviser panel of judges will decide the winner, based on several criteria: Creativity & Originality (60%); Number of Facebook Votes (20%); Overall Charm and Appeal (10%); and Composition of Photo (10%).
The Grand Prize award includes the following:
- $1,000 donation to the registered 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue or shelter of the winner’s choice, courtesy of Embrace Pet Insurance
- Featured article on Pets Adviser about that shelter or rescue
- In addition, the Grand Prize Winner him- or herself will receive a $75 gift card at the brand-new Pets Adviser Shop (coming soon)…
- …Plus two packages of Stomp N Gos from Bissell
(1) Best Cat Costume
One Best Cat Costume prize winner will be judged from all valid entries. The winner will be determined by the panel of judges according to the following criteria: Creativity & Originality (60%); Number of Facebook Votes (20%); Overall Charm and Appeal (10%); and Composition of Photo (10%). The Best Cat Costume prize includes the following:
- Kitty a Go-Go designer litter box ($130 value)
- Two packages of Stomp N Gos from Bissell
- 50% off an order at the new Pets Adviser Shop (coming soon)
(1) Best Dog Costume
One Best Dog Costume prize winner will be judged from all valid entries. The winner will be determined by the panel of judges according to the following criteria: Creativity & Originality (60%); Number of Facebook Votes (20%); Overall Charm and Appeal (10%); and Composition of Photo (10%). The Best Dog Costume prize includes the following:
- An assortment of KONG dog products ($100 value)
- Two packages of Stomp N Gos from Bissell

(10) Honorable Mentions
The panel of judges will select 10 more winners to receive Honorable Mention. These winners get:
